Wean Pups

The program will remind you in several ways when pups are ready to be weaned:

1. In the census, the cage is highlighted as below:

2. The number of litter to be weaned is shown on the task calendar.

3. The female (mother) is listed in the wean list.

After you wean the pups, update the database as following:

1. Add records of the newly weaned mice into the database by click "From litter" on the "Cage" window:

2. Update litter information by double click the breeding record:

Then change the status to "Weaned". The litter will be removed from wean list if its status is "Weaned", "Sac", or "Lost". You can find the weaned litter information in the mating history of the parents (Click on the main window).
